"I love it when they serve dessert with the meal, but call it salad."
That is how my niece's husband describes this treat
- Combine and set aside:
- 12 oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cups sugar
- Mix and press into 9x13 baking dish:
- 2 ¼ cups crushed pretzels
- ½ chopped pecans
- ¾ cup melted butter
- Bake at 400° 10 minutes
- Cool.
- Spread cream cheese mixture over pretzel crust
- Spread 8-oz Cool Whip over cream cheese.
- Chill 30 minutes.
- Prepare Jell-O Layer
- Dissolve 6-oz pkg red Jell-O
- In 2-cups boiling water
- Add 1-cup cold water
- Add 1 large pkg frozen fruit(s)
- Once partially set, carefully spoon pour over Cool Whip
- Refrigerate several hours before serving.
